Between May 6th and May 12th, we have to unofficial observances that honor professionals who are heroes who never get the recognition they deserve. From May 6th to the 12th, we honor nurses with National Nurses’ Week. National Nurses’ Day falls on the last day because that is the date on which the mother of the nursing profession, Florence Nightengale, was born. Between May 7th and May 11th, we observe National Teacher Appreciation Week. May 8 is the day that’s designated as National Teacher Day. And for both events, flowers are the gift of choice.
